Timeline update + address lock deadline

Hello everyone! Just a quick update now that I've received a bit more info on the expected delivery dates. 

Timeline update

The planters are arriving in two shipments - shipment 1 should be here by the end of the month! Shipment 2 should be arriving in November which contains the planters and saucers for US orders. This means fulfilment will be taking place throughout November - December.  I've been warned by my freight forwarder that the ports are congested at the moment due to the shortage of drivers, but we're hoping this won't effect our shipment too much. If it does it should only be a week or two delay but I will update if it's anything more than that!

Once your order has been fulfilled you will receive a shipping notification email! Please note that only the US orders will contain a tracking number (this is due to the cost of tracking from the UK + US orders being sent via a different method).

Address locking

I am planning on locking the Backerkit addresses on October 31st, to prepare for fulfilment. This means all the product counts and addresses will be unchangeable, so if you'd like to adjust anything (or if you think you'll need to adjust after this date) please send me a message on Kickstarter. 

Can I purchase them if I missed the Kickstarter?

Yes! I'll be putting any leftovers up in my shop after all the Kickstarter/preorders have been shipped out.

Mini enamel pins

Pins have finished production and I've received them, we're just waiting on the backing cards so we can put them together. These will be fulfilled in November, around the same time as the plant pots.

Production complete!!

Hello everyone!

I wanted to post an update now that we finally have some progress - production has been completed! Half the pots have started their journey to me and the other half will be shipped this week. It took longer than expected to get them out as the ports are really congested at the moment, but thankfully we managed to book a space. It'll take 30-45 days for them to arrive, then around a week or two to get them all out! Though it'll also depend on receiving port/custom clearance timeframes. I'll add some factory photos below!:

Packaging

Here are some photos of the packaging and the boxes you'll receive them in! Each planter/saucer has been securely packed and boxed to keep them as safe as possible during transport. We've also done drop tests to make sure they can survive the rough seas! 

Address changes

As we're getting closer to the fulfilment stage I'm going to plan a date for when I'll lock the survey addresses. I know some of you had troubles changing the address so I'm going to get to those messages today, but if anyone else needs help please send me a message!

This has definitely been the most difficult and tiring project I've done, it's been a lot of work, research, waiting and emailing! I'm eternally grateful for all of your patience and understanding and I hope you love the planters when you receive them(:

Production update!

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well! There's been another change to the schedule so I wanted to post to keep you updated! 

Address change

I've had a few people reach out to change their address. If you'd like to make an update please use this link.  If you enter your email it'll resend the survey and you should be able to edit it from there!

Mini enamel pins

The mini pins have arrived and are currently being quality checked which has been going well so far! Here is a photo of some froggies and mushrooms that passed the process (sorry most of them are upside down, they didn't want to face the right way!)

Planters/saucers

I've been checking in with my manufacturer a lot as we are getting close to the finish now! Unfortunately, on the 27th I was told that production would be delayed again due to lack of workers. China is currently having problems with Covid outbreaks and lockdowns so I believe that may be the cause. They originally wanted to extend it a month but they've agreed to 2 weeks since it had already been delayed. The safety of the workers is the most important thing, and I also still want to prioritise the quality of the planters so if they need an extra week or two I'd prefer they have that than rushing it. I've been told they're at the glazing stage though so definitely the final stretch! Here are a few photos I received when we were reviewing colours/bulk production changes.

Other updates

Another thing that I've been working on has been the packaging! Here is a preview of the box front. Each planter/saucer is planned to have their own design, and they'll be padded inside to keep it in place safely during transport. I've requested a drop test to ensure we minimise any breakages too.

Now that we have information on carton size, box sizes, weights etc I'm finalising the logistics for this campaign. I should have the finished plan in the next Kickstarter post as well as updated shipping times (freight is very unstable at the moment so I'll be checking for updated estimates). 

Thank you again for being so understanding and patient with this project! I'm truly grateful, it's been a bizarre year in the manufacturing world with everyone being understaffed/overworked. This is definitely the worst delay I've ever experienced and I really wish they'd have been sent out already but there's only so much I can do at the moment. Thank you for the support, I promise these cute little planters are worth the wait!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well(:

Enamel pins

I just wanted to do a little update as I have now received photos for the enamel pin samples from the manufacturer. Once they've been shipped to me I'll check the colours in person, make any adjustments and then bulk production can begin for those! 

Extended production times

Production has already started for the planters and saucers and I'll be checking in regularly with the manufacturers to make sure it's going smoothly! I have been told that due to Covid-related worker shortages the production times will be extended. I am keeping up with this and will update you all when I receive a clearer timeframe, but as these items are handmade I am prioritising the quality over speed. The surveys still allow addresses to be edited and I'll leave those unlocked until closer to fulfilment.
